What you need to know
My client in the healthcare sector, based in Naas, Co. Kildare is looking to recruit an experienced Telephonist/Switchboard Operator for their department that operates on a 24/7 basis
This role will be shift work – days/night/weekends
You must be available and flexible to the working schedule
*Every 8 weeks you will be required to work 7 full nights (12 hour shifts)*
This will be a rolling month to month contract.
Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:
Operate & manage switchboard
Operate external and internal bleep systems for routine and emergency calls.
Meet & greet patients
Liaise with hospital departments & medical professionals
Transferring of calls
Telephone queries
Coordinate deliveries/collections
Update and maintain “ON CALL” lists
Record information
Data entry
Duties and clerical administration to support the department
Participate in training as required.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience working as a Telephonist/Switchboard Operator in a fast-paced environment – essential
Healthcare/hospital experience would be preferable
Strong IT/computer skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
Must be fluent in written & oral English
