My client in the healthcare sector, based in Naas, Co. Kildare is looking to recruit an experienced Telephonist/Switchboard Operator for their department that operates on a 24/7 basis

This role will be shift work – days/night/weekends

You must be available and flexible to the working schedule

 *Every 8 weeks you will be required to work 7 full nights (12 hour shifts)*

 This will be a rolling month to month contract.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Operate & manage switchboard

• Operate external and internal bleep systems for routine and emergency calls.

• Meet & greet patients

• Liaise with hospital departments & medical professionals

• Transferring of calls

• Telephone queries

• Coordinate deliveries/collections

• Update and maintain “ON CALL” lists

• Record information

• Data entry

• Duties and clerical administration to support the department

• Participate in training as required.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience working as a Telephonist/Switchboard Operator in a fast-paced environment – essential

• Healthcare/hospital experience would be preferable

• Strong IT/computer skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment

• Must be fluent in written & oral English
