My client, a leading player in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Manager to join their team in Longford. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of food safety and quality management across the organisation, ensuring that quality standards meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Your new job
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee product quality to ensure it aligns with customer specifications and Quality Attribute Specifications (QAS).
Lead preparation for external audits from customers, regulatory bodies (HSE, Dept of Ag), and third-party accreditation bodies (BRC Global Food Safety Standard, RSPO).
Implement and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with food safety procedures, policies, and standards.
Lead and support HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, and Mock Recall Teams, ensuring all systems are up to date and effective.
Monitor and manage quality control processes such as metal detection, labelling, and raw material and packaging conformity.
Mentor and develop the Quality Assurance team, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement in quality management practices.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers to maintain quality standards and resolve quality issues.
What are we looking for?
A third-level qualification in Food Science or a related discipline.
At least 4 years of experience in a Quality & QMS role, plus 4 years’ management experience, leading and developing high-performing teams.
Strong knowledge of food safety legal requirements, BRC Global Food Safety Standards, and Retailer Standards.
Proficiency in HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, and Mock Recall processes, with experience in handling customer complaints and implementing corrective actions.
