What you need to know 

My client in the Public/Healthcare sector is looking to recruit a Maintenance/Facilities Manager for their site in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

This will be a contract job initially.

You will be responsible for managing the Maintenance Dept on the basis of delivering quality-based, cost-effective services; managing contracts, grounds of facility, health & safety & equipment in accordance with regulations.

 

Your new job 

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Cooperate with cross-functional teams for the implementation of IT development programme

  • Manage performance and maintenance of buildings i.e. mechanical & electrical services

  • Participate and manage new development projects

  • Preparation of annual buildings and maintenance plans to include Minor/Major Capital, Energy Management, PEMAC requests

  • Ensure contracts works are managed in line with H&S policies/procedures & construction regulations

  • Chair meetings and committees

  • Prepare reports, estimates, specifications & drawings

  • Carry out Risk Assessments , audits & fire safety

  • Prepare budgetary plans for infrastructural works, procurement, purchasing of materials

 

What are we looking for?

  •  3rd Level/Apprenticeship in IT, Electrical/Mechanical trade OR Engineering/Surveying/Facilities/Chartered Surveyors

  • At least 7 years experience in mechanical/electrical/engineering management of large buildings

  • Experience in management of operational budgets

  • Management of multidisciplinary trades & technical teams

  • Experience in implementation of Planned Maintenance programmes

  • Experience working with building service systems, technologies i.e. UPS units, AHU’s, water treatment systems

  • Must have a valid Safe Pass or equivalent
