What you need to know:
Our client, a leading national company in the manufacturing of bread and bakery products, are currently seeking a QA Manager to join their team in Wexford. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent salary. The role will suit an experienced professional, particularly one with a background and experience Food Safety and Quality Systems. The candidate is required to ensure good manufacturing practices are in place, operational and maintained to meet all customer & legal requirements & to ensure a high level of food safety, quality, authenticity and legality in all products produced.  As a member of the bakery management team the Quality Manager will contribute cross functionally to achieve the annual business objectives.

Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:

Responsibility for the Quality Food Safety systems on site to include although not exhaustive:
  • HACCP / Plant Hygiene / GMP / Pest Control / Internal Audits / Customer Complaints
  • Mondy to Friday role with Saturday’s as required.
  • Ensuring the systems in place deliver product quality to agreed specifications consistently
  • Responsible for all matters relating to food safety and encouraging / promoting Quality Culture throughout the company
  • Working closely with site Management and Team Leaders to lead a culture of continuous improvement
  • Training of all staff on site
  • Play a key role in audits on site i.e. 3rd Party, customer, regulatory
  • Management of the site hygiene department
  • Management of contract cleaning
  • Planning and implementing corrective / preventative actions as required
  • Ensure company policy and operational standards are always maintained
  • Identify and action cost reductions
  • Complete your duties while working in line with the site Health & Safety requirements
What are we looking for?
  • 3rd level qualification
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Food Safety / Quality Assurance role
  • Auditing experience to include internal, customer, regulatory and 3rd Party
  • People management experience
  • Flexibility
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literate
