What you need to know

Our client, a well-known Irish but global environmental company is currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Manager for their site based in Co. Offaly.

This is permanent position, working week Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

 

Your new job

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the maintenance of the power plants and associated support systems together ensuring alignment with the Operations teams according to the customer’s instructions ensuring that defined targets are achieved, and the works are carried out safely, economically and within environmental and other design limits of the Plant.

  • Responsible for spare part management alongside with purchasing and contract management, meeting agreed budgets.

  • Overall responsibility for outage planning.

  • Play a key role in the implementation of the Plant Business Management System.

  • Develop and implement a resource plan for the maintenance team. Develop a succession plan for the maintenance team and ensure associated people development plans are implemented. Lead the engagement planning process for the maintenance function ensuring an action plan is developed in conjunction with the team and implemented.

  • Progress the ongoing development of the Maintenance team through good communication, involvement and teamwork ensuring that the team is motivated and skilled to meet the ambitious targets of the Renewable division.

  • Lead and promote a culture of Health and safety and ensure compliance with safe systems of work for employees and contractors.

  • Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s).

What are we looking for?

  • BSc in Engineering or related technical discipline.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field; Proven experience in large scale thermal power plant or related heavy industrial maintenance.

  • Experience at people management, with the ability to lead, motivate and provide direction.
