What you need to know
Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team in Co. Leitrim. This is a great opportunity to take on a key role.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of reconciled financial statements within the Finance Department while overseeing daily activities in line with company policies.
This is a permanent position, working Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm

Financial Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Finance team to prepare month-end close reports, journal entries, and financial forecasts.

  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of the month-end balance sheet, adhering to strict reporting deadlines.

  • Working closely with GBS (Shared Service Centre) on the management of the plant accounts

  • Prepare statutory financial statements, revenue returns, and other external financial reports.

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors.

  • Develop and maintain corporate best practice policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations and meet business objectives.

  • Conduct detailed performance analysis of plant operations, measuring results against key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Support the Finance team in completing core accounting activities and ensuring smooth financial operations.


What are we looking for

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or Business (Hons) equivalent

  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in accounting or finance.

  • Strong background in financial accounting and cost management.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in implementing and testing internal controls.

  • Strong organisational abilities, capable of meeting tight reporting deadlines.
