Matrix Recruitment is currently seeking an EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Officer to support a leading Westmeath based organisation in the construction sector. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting EHS initiatives across multiple sites and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of Health, Safety & Wellbeing policies, procedures, and initiatives across construction sites and office locations.

• Deliver EHS inductions and training to site and office staff.

• Assist with ensuring compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory, and client-specific EHS requirements.

• Conduct site inspections and internal audits to promote safe working environments.

• Attend site safety meetings and assist with documenting and tracking actions.

• Support the management of EHS improvement initiatives and well-being programmes.

• Contribute to the reduction of incidents through safety awareness and engagement with site teams.

What are we looking?

• At least 1-2 years’ EHS experience in the construction industry

• Professional certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.

• Full clean Irish driving licence.

• Strong knowledge of Irish HSE legislation and regulations.
