What You Need to Know:
Matrix Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Energy Pricing Analyst to join our client, a leading renewable energy company based in Kildare.

In this role, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining detailed electricity market pricing models, conducting market analysis, and supporting investment decisions.

This is a permanent role that offers a hybrid working model.

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain electricity market pricing models to support effective asset operations and investment decisions.

  • Produce regular price forecasts and market analyses for the trading team, focusing on current and future market conditions, market drivers, and competitor analysis.

  • Forecast trading requirements for operational changes and support the transition to new operational processes.

  • Conduct market reviews for the business around energy prices to identify areas or risk and opportunity.

  • Review and assess commercial agreements to ensure smooth transitions from project delivery to operations, including obligations related to wind, solar, hydrogen, and biomethane projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and ensure data content and requirements are fully understood.

  • Monitor trends and key performance indicators to support the broader team's objectives.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and welfare protocols within the company.


What are we looking for?

  • Honours Degree in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science or Engineering.

  • 3-5 years of experience in power price forecasting, power market analytics, or power trading.

  • Proficiency with Plexos modeling tools and advanced Excel skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of ISEM and energy market analysis.

  • Strong analytical thinking and quantitative skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in data modeling and managing large datasets.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, AWS, and other IT packages.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
