Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Co. Roscommon are currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Officer to join their team.

The Environmental Health & Safety Officer will actively foster a safe and positive workplace, advising and supporting all areas of the organisation on environmental, health, safety, and welfare matters for site personnel.

This is a permanent position.

 

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS across the site.

  • Manage and maintain the ISO14001 Environmental Management System.

  • Provide senior management with regular EHS reports, KPIs, and key metrics.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Coordinate environmental programs focused on energy reduction, waste management, and more.

  • Identify and address site-specific EHS issues and maintain effective document control.

  • Ensure EHS policies, procedures, and safety statements comply with regulations.

  • Manage accident and incident processes, including investigations and corrective actions.

  • Lead the risk assessment program and promote a strong EHS culture through training and awareness.

  • Represent the company in external audits and inspections, ensuring compliance.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree (Level 7/8) in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a medical device manufacturing or engineering role (preferred).

  • Effective team player, able to collaborate with colleagues across all departments.

  • Strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and manage daily tasks effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.
