What you need to know
Our client based in County Laois, a leading figure in specialist Pump solutions are seeking a Buyer with a Supply Chain emphasis to join their team.
This buyer is responsible for managing purchased part and raw material inventory and ensuring that all purchases are executed with procurement policies.  There will be a close working relationship with the Production Supervisor in securing items that are ordered to specific customer orders.
 
Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:

 
  • Review MRP repots and respond to action messages.
  • Prepare and entre purchase orders for all supplies and raw materials.
  • Liaise with customer service to determine if customer requested dates can be met
  • Review/modify Kanban parameters to changing demand patterns
  • Maintain accurate replenishment dates in the MRP system
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable
  • Monitor and maintain transactions from order entry through approval, confirmation, timely delivery and receipt of goods.
  • Liaise with Quality department to expeditiously disposition rejected materials
 
What are we looking for?

 
  • Business Degree with Supply Chain emphasis preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory management system PFEP preferred
  • Strong Analytical skills 
  • Attention to detail - ensuring all data entered into systems is accurate and current to enable accurate reporting and KPI management and appropriate escalation
  • Ability to be versatile and adapt to a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong working Knowledge of MRP, ERP systems, Excel, and database programs Experience using Epicor and Smart software an advantage but not necessary
  • Must have the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to understand when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, recognizing a problem and assuming primary responsibility for the solution by taking the initiative to solve the problem with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing; ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally in detail so others understand; ability to speak clearly so others can understand; ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented and communicate this information to others so they understand.
  • Must be able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish workload in a fast-paced environment
