What you need to know
My client, a well-established Irish owned company that has built up a long-standing entity in Co. Offaly is looking for a Automation Maintenance Technician to join their team.
In this role you will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager, and you will be responsible for generating and maintaining assets and to achieve challenging targets across key areas such as maintenance, engineering, commercial performance, safety, environmental standards, quality, and personal development.
This role is a permanent position and is based on a day shift, Monday to Friday basis. The hours consist of 8am-4:30pm.
Your new job
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure that maintenance plans and targets are met safely, cost-effectively, and within environmental limits, while conducting preventive maintenance and other tasks, maintaining records in the Maintenance Management System, and overseeing quality documentation.
Perform preventative maintenance on control and instrumentation systems, including calibrating process instruments (e.g., pH, pressure, flow, level, and temperature) and maintaining stack emission monitoring equipment.
Support IT infrastructure locally, including office networks, data historian development, and maintaining software systems for the Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM).
Install, modify, and maintain instruments, SCADA systems, PLC controllers, and plant automation systems, while ensuring spare parts availability.
Collaborate with contractors for commissioning new projects, resolve automation issues, and manage vendor and contractor activities on-site when necessary.
Adhere to company health, safety, and welfare provisions and actively participate in the Performance Management process to meet individual and team objectives.
What are we looking for?
Technical qualification, such as a Bachelor of Technology or an equivalent degree, along with a recognised apprenticeship.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintaining heavy process industries or power plants is required.
Strong IT proficiency, with the ability to think logically and solve problems using first principles.
