What you need to know

Our client who is carrying out work in the Athlone region are seeking a Site Engineer to join their team. The role is a 6-month fixed term contract

In this role you will be reporting to the Senior Engineer onsite, and you will be involved in the day to day management and delegation of duties for personnel across a number of sites in the Athlone region. Ultimately ensuring that the duties carried out are completed and in line with the clients’ expectations and other stakeholders’ expectations.

The working hours for the role is 07:30-4:30 PM. On a Monday to Friday basis

Your new job

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Directly involved in the Management of 20 personnel. 

  • Involved in the setting out process, additionally ensuring that any Levelling out, Total Station and GPS work is carried out correctly and efficiently. 

  • Carrying out record keeping, such as daily allocation sheets and plant sheets.

  • Manage sub-contractors when necessary and delegate roles to them. 

  • Procurement of good and services.

  • Involvement in site meetings.

  • Liaise with stakeholders that are involved and effected by the project work being carried out.

  • Optimum Health and Safety Management, carrying out risk assessments and method statements. 

 

What are we looking for?

Essential 

  • Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering 

  • Safe pass

  • Valid Driving license and own transport 

  • At least two years post graduate experience working on Civil Engineering projects

Required

  • Effective Team Player 

  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and budgets

  • Possess Cost management skills

  • Proactive in their approach to duties 

  • Strong ability to delegate roles efficiently
