Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior H&S Officer for our industrial manufacturing client based in the Waterford Region

This is a permanent role.

You will lead efforts to create a safe working environment, ensure compliance with health and safety laws, and improve safety culture among employees.

Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:

• Promote safety in the workplace and train employees on best practices.

• Conduct safety checks and audits to ensure everything is up to standard.

• Ensure compliance with legal safety regulations and company policies.

• Investigate accidents and report them properly.

• Work with government safety inspectors when they visit the site.

• Manage safety documentation and systems (such as ISO 45001).

• Communicate safety information to employees, contractors, and visitors.

What are we looking for?

• BSc in Occupational Safety & Health or similar recognised qualification.

• Additional certifications (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 training).

• At least 5 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction setting.

• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety laws and compliance requirements.

• Experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.

• Strong background with ISO standards-  ISO 45001 implementation and regulatory compliance.
