Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit- Mechanical Design Engineers-for my client, an established SME, based in the Waterford area.

Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:

• Assist in managing projects from initial concept through to final installation.
• Create mechanical designs and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Collaborate with electrical and control engineers as required in machine design.
• Support documentation requirements in line with industry standards such as GAMP.
• Apply fundamental engineering principles to design mechanical systems and components.
• Contribute to the development, testing, and validation of new mechanical designs.
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, vendors, and contractors to support project execution.

What are we looking for?

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.
• 3 years + of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience in designing special-purpose machines for automation.
• Ability to work on both large automation projects and small custom components.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Understanding of mechanical systems & manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of GAMP (or willingness to learn).
• Key Skills: problem-solving, teamwork, communication & attention to detail.
