What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant for our client, in the financial services industry, based in Limerick.

In this position, you will be responsible for assisting with the review of financial statements across the department in addition to identifying and implementing best practice across teams.
You will also work with the management team with regards to client servicing, new business opportunities and client due diligence presentations.

This position will suit you if you are a qualified accountant with experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements.

This is a 6-month contract position with some possibility of extension or other opportunities within the team. Offers a hybrid working model, ideally 3 days in the office.


Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Carry out financial reporting and prepare client reports.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure that they are compliant with current accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive a client service culture among staff and ensure that all clients receive a quality service.
  • Work closely with the audit firms and facilitate technical briefs and updates for the department.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the audit firms.
  • Represent the Financial Reporting team at relevant meetings as required.
  • Identify training and development needs and establish performance standards for the department.
  • Assist team members in the resolution of non-routine and complex financial reporting issues.
  • Liaise with Compliance and other relevant internal stakeholders where required.
  • Assist in establishing best practice within the department to provide unrivalled client satisfaction and continuously improve the department’s service to clients.

What are we looking for?
  • Fully qualified accountant.
  • Proven experience in the investment management industry.
  • Financial reporting experience.
  • Strong communication, first class presentation and internal and external client-servicing skills.
  • Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Irish regulatory regime as it relates to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
  • Be an effective communicator, motivator, coach and mentor.
  • Takes initiative to improve areas outside of immediate responsibilities.   
  • IT proficient.
