What you need to know

Our Environmental focussed client is seeing a Senior Engineer to join their team.

This position will be in the County Fermanagh jurisdiction and will be a pivotal position in regional management/maintenance of the client’s infrastructure.

This is a Permanent position and will involve travel. There will be WFH 3 days a week. Hours of work will be 9 AM -5:30 PM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of operational staff, on maintenance and construction site work

  • Liaison with consultants and contractors on any planning required for current or future projects

  • Co-ordinate site surveys, relevant studies and evaluations of possible works projects, and draw up associated reports

  • Prepare and co-ordinate initial designs, planning submissions, designs for tender, tender documents, tender appraisals and project reviews as required to manage the works programme in accordance with statutory requirements

  • Manage and report on progress of maintenance and construction programmes/ projects to ensure delivery on time, budget and quality

  • Effective communication with local stakeholders, local Authorities and residents on updates on infrastructure improvements and maintenance works

  • Working with local authorities in areas of funding, focussing on leveraging funding for improvements of infrastructure

 

What are we looking for?

  • Possess a Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification which qualifies the candidate to apply for chartered membership of a relevant professional engineering institution (ICE / IEI).

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience in the design or construction of civil / structural engineering projects, at least 2 of which should have been in an operational environment

  • Hold a current driving licence and possess access to a form of transport which will permit travel throughout Ireland and ensure that the person can supervise works spread over a wide area.

  • Possess knowledge and experience of the key issues involved in the field of Civil/Structural Engineering, in particular relating to construction in a water-based environment
