 What you need to know

Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Quality Manager for our client based in County Westmeath who specialises in the Manufacturing industry. They are a leading manufacturer of construction materials to the UK and Irish markets. Our client is currently expanding due to growing project plans for infrastructure in road, rail, utilities, residential and commercial markets, this has now led them to expanding their team.

The Quality Manager's key responsibility is to maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring continued certification. The potential candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement, communicating quality objectives set by senior management, and addressing internal non-conformances and customer concerns.

This is a permanent role.

 

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure ISO compliance, regularly assess performance, liaise with external auditors, and collaborate with senior management to set and review Quality Objectives.

  • Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a factory production control system to ensure continuous compliance with standards, including EN 206:2013 for batching equipment, FPC for CE-marked precast concrete products, and EN 12620 for aggregates used in concrete production.

  • Ensure all new staff are inducted into QMS requirements relevant to their roles, provide ongoing training as needed, and collaborate with the Production Manager to identify and address re-training needs.

  • Generate and communicate all necessary Quality reports, documenting non-conformance issues and corrective/preventative action plans with target completion dates; ensure prompt, professional resolution of customer issues and conduct regular customer satisfaction assessments to implement continuous improvements effectively.

  • Drive a culture of continuous quality improvement by analysing result trends, calculating the cost of quality, identifying improvement projects, and clearly communicating the company's quality standards across the organisation.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Qualification in Manufacturing/ Food Science/ Construction/ Engineering or another related field

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the quality manager position, ideally within the construction/manufacturing industry.

  • Technical Skills: Strong practical expertise and a commitment to quality, with a focus on effective, hands-on implementation.

  • Communication: Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities, enabling effective teamwork across various departments.
