Our client, a global organisation are currently seeking a Senior Buyer Team Lead for their manufacturing plant in Waterford.

This is a permanent role with a WFH option after six months and there is an excellent salary and benefits package. Excellent opportunity to advance.

Your new job
You will lead the Company’s global procurement team to ensure the best outcomes in the management of direct materials sourcing and delivery. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic projects that will support growth plans. You will be expected to create innovative strategies which add value.


Key duties & responsibilities:

• Train, manage and develop a team of 5 purchasing professionals

• Ensure Materials are sourced and delivered to meet production requirements

• Ensure safety stocks are in place to enable production lead times for core products to be achieved

• Develop internal supply chain SOPs and external supplier collaborations to improve supply chain efficiencies

• Work closely with S&OP teams to ensure alignment between supply chain, sales and planning

• Develop ERP functionality to reduce the requirement for annual demand calculations

• Explore supply base options to ensure supply at optimal terms such as pricing, lead times, flexibility

• Manage sub-contract operations to ensure smooth flow of materials to subcontractors and sub-assemblies back to Client

• Work to develop and mentor the procurement team to grow our talent

What are we looking for?

• Relevant degree holder with significant in manufacturing experience

• Commercially focussed with strong ability to influence sourcing decisions

• Proven track record

• Strong knowledge and hands on experience of ERP systems
