What you need to know

An innovative and growing medical device company in Co. Roscommon who provide their clients with bespoke and high-quality medical device products is currently seeking a Moulding Engineer.

This is a permanent role working week Monday-Friday from 8:30-5 onsite.

The Moulding Engineer will be reporting to a Business Unit Engineering Manager.

 

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot production moulds and processes as problems arise.

  • Conduct root cause analysis reports when necessary.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities for machines, tools, and ancillary equipment.

  • Prepare related moulding documentation, including SOPs, IQs/Protocols, DMRs, process travelers, and work instructions.

  • Validate activities such as Scientific Injection Moulding studies.

  • Execute Design of Experiments for new processes.

  • Address Corrective and Preventive Action Requests as needed.

  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams as required.

  • Develop project timelines and ensure milestones are met on schedule and within budget.

  • Coordinate with toolmakers regarding projects, preventive maintenance, and spare parts programs.

  • Oversee and analyse metrology measurements during product development phases.

  • Lead decisions on mould design and steel modifications.

  • Adhere to quality and environmental management system requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • A Level 7/8 degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred.

  • Ideally, 4 years of experience in an injection moulding environment in the medical, packaging, or technological industries, particularly with process validations, is advantageous.

  • Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with statistical software, preferably Minitab.

  • Understanding of medical device validation protocols and the related documentation.

  • Hands-on experience with implementing validation protocols.

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • A solid background in process engineering.

  • Experience with new product introduction.
