What you need to know

One of our key clients, an established Furniture Distribution company in Co. Roscommon is seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their team. This is a new role and a great opportunity to develop your career.

This is a permanent role. Hybrid working.

The Financial Accountant will report to the Group Financial Controller. The Financial Accountant will have responsibility for preparing monthly management accounts for the group, overseeing accounts payable and receivable function, revenue returns and fixed asset register.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities.

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure an accurate and efficient month-end close.

  • Generate monthly management accounts that deliver insights for strategic decision-making.

  • Maintain and update the fixed asset registers.

  • Reconcile the general ledger to confirm the accuracy of all recorded transactions.

  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable function.

  • Lead and coach a finance team, fostering their development and growth.

  • Assist in preparing for year-end audits to ensure compliance and readiness.

  • Manage submissions to Revenue/HMRC, including VAT, PAYE, Intrastat, RTD, and VIES, ensuring full compliance.

  • Maintain a robust control framework to safeguard the integrity of financial operations.

  • Manage IT systems and coordinate with external providers.

What are we looking for?

  • Certified accountant with 2-3 years of experience, ideally gained in a practice or FMCG setting.

  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with ERP systems.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Highly organised, able to manage various tasks and adhere to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at collaborating with different teams and levels.

  • Interest or background in managing IT systems and working with external providers.
