Our client, an established Irish food group based in Co. Longford is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

This is a permanent position.

The Financial Accountant will report to the Reporting and Controlling Manager. This job will play a key role in the finance department. It is a great job opportunity to take on new responsibilities and progress your career.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Generate and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.

  • Prepare tax returns and monthly Intrastat/VIES returns.

  • Report on monthly cost centre budget variances.

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.

  • Reconcile and analyse GL accounts, calculate accruals, and set up journal entries.

  • Manage debtors and creditors ledgers.

  • Prepare CSO returns and surveys.

  • Compile EI Grant submission reports and applications.

  • Assist with the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors.

  • Analyse payroll, prepare journals, and submit payroll details to an external payroll company.

  • Prepare detailed financial analyses for both external stakeholders and internal departments.

  • Support month-end reporting to meet deadlines.

  • Report on R&D tax credits.

  • Aid in the preparation of the annual budget.

What are we looking for?

  • Recently qualified CIMA,ACCA,ACA, or CPA Accountant

  • 3-5 years of experience in a dynamic financial setting preferably within industry.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • In-depth knowledge and expertise with ERP systems.

  • Effective task prioritization skills.

  • Outstanding communication abilities.

  • Cooperative and team-oriented mindset.

  • High attention to detail with a solid understanding of accounting principles.

  • Background in inventory management is desirable.
