What you need to know

Our client, a successful and well-established manufacturing company in Co. Cavan, are currently seeking an Electrical Tendering Engineer to join their organisation.

This is permanent position, working week Monday – Friday.

The Electrical tendering engineer will report to the Commercial Manager and will liaise frequently with the Design Team.


Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Prepare necessary documents, drawings, calculations, and cost estimates in line with customer requirements.

  • Create detailed cost estimates based on project specifications, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracting.

  • Evaluate the financial and manufacturing feasibility of the project.

  • Identify and address commercial and technical risks.

  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers for necessary information and clarifications.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.

  • Transfer winning tenders to Customer Service, noting milestones, risks, and any non-standard aspects.

  • Ensure tender documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

  • Provide technical support and clarifications during the evaluation and negotiation phases.

  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and business opportunities.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related field).

  • Relevant certifications in project management or cost estimation are advantageous.

  • 3-5 years in a similar role, ideally within the engineering or construction sector.

  • In-depth understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.

  • Skilled in using tendering and cost estimation software.

  • Knowledgeable about project management tools and practices.

  • Capable of analysing complex project specifications and creating precise cost estimates.

  • Skilled in identifying potential issues and offering effective solutions.
