What you need to know

Our client, one of Ireland’s leading medical device distributors based in Co. Galway are currently seeking a Electrical/Maintenance Technician to join their organisation.

This is a permanent role, working week Monday – Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

The electrical/maintenance technician will be reporting to the Sites Operations Manager.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow all health and safety rules and work safely.

  • Diagnose and fix equipment issues.

  • Maintain the equipment schedule.

  • Purchase and install necessary parts.

  • Develop and implement equipment procedures.

  • Upgrade equipment for efficiency and quality.

  • Perform equipment calibrations and complete the necessary reports.

  • Maintain air filtration, compressed air, RO water, and mains water systems.

  • Coordinate with third-party contractors for maintenance.

  • Train on new installations and equipment changes.

  • Resolve non-conformance issues.

  • Handle small facility tasks like painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

  • Participate in risk assessments and in equipment validations.

What are we looking for?

  • Electrical trade or Electrical/Mechanical orientated qualification/certification.

  • Proven experience in preventive and reactive maintenance/repairs of high-volume process equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems, BMS, automation, and microprocessor controls.

  • Proficient in communication, adept at teamwork, skilled in prioritizing tasks, and capable of swiftly and accurately resolving problems.

  • Experienced in HVAC, cleanroom operations, maintenance, process control and pneumatics, with expertise in calibration and validation would all be desirable.

  • Valid, clean driving license.
