Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer to join our client, a leading energy company based in Kildare. 

This is a pivotal role, where you will lead the financial strategy and planning of the organization, ensuring its financial health and aligning growth strategies with its mission to deliver sustainable and innovative energy solutions.

Your New Job
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Drive the company’s financial strategy by overseeing capital structure, long-term financial planning, and alignment with corporate growth objectives.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to the executive leadership team.
  • Manage the capital allocation process, prioritizing investments to maximize value and align with strategic goals.
  • Develop and optimize the company’s funding position through effective Treasury operations while adhering to Board-approved policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders, leading the capital-raising process across debt, equity, and other mechanisms.
  • Serve as the primary representative to external stakeholders, communicating the company’s value and market positioning to policymakers, investors, and the broader financial community.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse market trends, and identify risks and opportunities to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance frameworks are in place to mitigate risks and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the IT function to design and implement an IT strategy that supports the company’s operational and strategic needs.
  • Partner with the senior management team to support performance management, resource planning, and the delivery of strategic objectives.

What Are We Looking For?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
  • Over 10 years’ experience in financial leadership, ideally within infrastructure, renewable energy, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to execute business strategies and deliver financial results.
  • Experience in capital raising and managing large-scale financial operations.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, financing structures, and regulatory environments.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
