What you need to know:
Our client, a leading manufacturer serving the Irish market with Cement and GGBS, is currently recruiting an Assistant Operations Manager for a full-time, on-site role in Waterford. This is a hands-on position where you will oversee day-to-day operations, manage schedules, coordinate with clients, and ensure the maintenance of equipment. Additional responsibilities include monitoring project progress, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting team members to achieve operational objectives within a fast-paced environment.

Your new job:
Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations, ensuring that all processes are running efficiently and in line with business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain schedules, ensuring that all tasks and projects are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Coordinate with clients and external partners, ensuring clear communication and the smooth execution of projects.
  • Monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, actively promoting a safe working environment.
  • Optimize resource allocation, ensuring that all materials, equipment, and manpower are used effectively.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment, ensuring that all machinery and tools are properly maintained and operational.
  • Provide leadership and support to team members, helping them achieve individual and collective operational goals.
  • Handle day-to-day problem-solving, resolving any operational issues that arise promptly and efficiently.
  • Work closely with senior management to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase productivity.

What are we looking for?
  • Experience in operations management, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Knowledge in equipment maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and client coordination skills, ensuring smooth interactions with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in resource allocation, scheduling, and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed, effective decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in the construction industry is an advantage but not essential.
