Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Site Engineer for our client based on the County Cavan/Fermanagh border and they specialise in the Manufacturing industry. They are a leading manufacturing company for the construction industry supplying both Irish & British markets. Through continuous technical innovation, they are now leading the way in delivering cutting-edge, cost-effective construction solutions tailored to meet the demands of any project. With upcoming projects on the horizon, they are now looking to expand their team.

The Site Engineer will oversee on-site surfacing projects, ensuring safe, accurate, and high-quality completion. Working closely with the Contracts Manager and Supervisors, they will coordinate works, manage product quantities, and maintain high standards of workmanship.

This is a permanent, Monday – Friday position.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Site Management:

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate on-site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Manage staff, monitor performance, and optimize the use of resources including manpower, equipment, and materials.

• Develop and implement traffic management plans, including signage and control measures.

• Track progress, report daily activities, measure site work for pricing, and support tender preparation.

Technical Support:

• Provide engineering and technical guidance on-site, addressing any technical issues that arise and communicate requirements to relevant personnel, including Health & Safety, Batching Plant, and Transport teams.

• Ensure adherence to Safety Management Systems and Procedures, conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and audits.

• Identify deviations from planned work and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Liaise with customers and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery and maintain strong business relationships.

What are we looking for?

• Third Level Qualification in Civil Engineering or another related field.

• Minimum of one years’ experience as a Site Engineer within the civil engineering industry.

• Experience in road surfacing industry.

• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, with a focus on groundworks.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Valid UK Driving Licence required.
