What you need to know

Our partnered client, Glennon Brothers Group, is a leading manufacturer of timber frame houses and roof structures. Due to continued growth and significant investments in their facilities and projects, they are seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join and lead their in-house design team based in County Longford.

This is a permanent position.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee design programs, ensuring alignment with client contractual agreements.

  • Handle all technical aspects of the business, addressing both internal and external queries.

  • Collaborate with the estimating team to provide technical expertise and value engineering during the tender process.

  • Partner with the Production Manager to ensure manufacturing information meets production requirements and drive process improvements where needed.

  • Lead and manage the in-house design team, setting clear targets and tracking progress.

  • Foster and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key customers across Ireland.

  • Ensure all design activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Communicate effectively with client design teams and external consultants on active projects.

  • Work closely with site teams to address and resolve project-related queries.

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience in timber frame or modular construction design.

  • Skilled in using AutoCAD software for design and drafting tasks.

  • Has strong experience leading a design team, having exposure to offering support and advise to lower level/junior staff and ensuring projects/targets are being met.

  • Familiarity with Digital Project Delivery principles is an advantage.

  • Capable of producing detailed drawings for both new and existing projects.

  • Strong ability to interpret and work with architectural and engineering drawings.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive in approach.
