Our client, a well-known Irish but global environmental company is currently seeking to recruit an Operational Technology Technician for their site based in Co. Offaly.
This is a permanent position.
The Operational Technology Technician will report to the Compliance Project Manager.
Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:
Develop, review, and maintain architectural and technical documentation.
Define hardware and software needs for new and upgrade projects.
Manage and test IT/OT hardware and software configurations for cybersecurity.
Analyse assets, develop cybersecurity test plans, and conduct network scans and penetration tests.
Implement and manage network monitoring tools.
Collaborate with teams and vendors on IT/OT networks, firewalls, routers, appliances, WAN links, and VPNs.
Work with procurement for new and upgrade projects.
Support and deliver cybersecurity training to colleagues.
Obtain a safe-pass certificate and travel to remote sites.
Ensure compliance with NIS2 and health and safety regulations.
Lead and manage team performance to meet objectives.
What are we looking for?
A bachelor’s degree in a field with substantial numerical, analytical, or financial components.
Professional certifications like Cisco Certified Network Associate are highly beneficial.
A strong grasp of networking protocols, security measures, and best practices is needed.
Experience with operational technology data communications and protocols is advantageous.
Knowledge of cloud environments, vendors, and software-defined networking concepts is required.
Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and industry standards.
Proficiency in using network monitoring and management tools is necessary.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
