What you need to know

Our client, a well-established and large Irish food company based in Co. Longford is seeking a Newly or Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join their team. 

The Newly/Part Qualified Management Accountant will report into the Finance Manager and work closely with Operations. This job will suit an ambitious accountant looking to take on more responsibility and take the next step in their career. 

This is a permanent position.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Aid in the timely and precise preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts.

  • Monitor, manage, and report on monthly cost centres, providing insights on discrepancies.

  • Conduct weekly evaluations of labour expenses, productivity, energy consumption, and engineering expenditures.

  • Assess variances in conversion gains/losses compared to standard product costs and operational factors.

  • Generate standard cost estimates in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Review stock management procedures to ensure accuracy in both quantity and value.

  • Compile balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Identify areas for cost efficiency enhancements.

  • Serve as a representative of the Finance department in project teams.

What are we looking for?

  • Newly qualified or near the final stages of pursuing a professional accounting certification.

  • Demonstrated 2/3 years of relevant experience ideally within a manufacturing environment.

  • Exceptional communication, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and adept at problem-solving.

  • Proficient understanding of cost allocation, product costing, and reporting.

  • Familiarity with fully integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP.

  • Collaborative team player.
