What you need to know

Our client, a thriving and long-established Irish food group are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Co. Longford.

This is a permanent role, working Monday to Friday based with the occasional on call cover.

 

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on production equipment, including planned preventative, scheduled, and predictive maintenance tasks, as well as equipment surveys.

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on production lines and related machinery.

  • Carry out electro-mechanical repairs on high-speed equipment, including handling and packaging systems.

  • Carry out detailed root cause analysis on breakdowns to implement corrective repairs

  • Review and improve planned preventative maintenance procedures for enhanced quality and effectiveness.

  • Repair mechanical and control systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.

  • Assist the production team in meeting performance targets.

  • Maintain cleanliness in your work areas, including the workshop and storage areas.

  • Fully engage in training and development, including cross-skilling and acquiring job-related competencies.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Strong mechanical or electrical background, with over 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment post-apprenticeship.

  • Trades/Diploma qualifications.

  • Prior experience in FMCG or food manufacturing is a plus.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Quality, Health, and Safety standards.

  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and problem solving.

  • Available for call out duties and / or overtime when required.

  • Knowledge of Food Safety Systems (e g. BRC) would be an advantage
