What you need to know

Our client, a leading manufacturing company are looking to recruit a HR and Payroll Officer to join their team based in Co. Longford. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, fully onsite.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the onboarding of new employees, including induction programs, preparing employment contracts, distributing the employee handbook and safety statement, and managing employee documentation.

  • Address and resolve day-to-day employee concerns and conflicts.

  • Monitor and manage employee attendance, working hours, sick leave, and annual leave records.

  • Conduct and support investigation and disciplinary procedures as required.

  • Maintain and optimise the HR system and related processes.

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including preparing job descriptions, screening and shortlisting candidates, coordinating interviews, gathering references, and issuing employment offers to successful candidates.

  • Ensure training and development needs are met by maintaining the training matrix through software like Boxcore and organising training sessions such as manual handling, Safe Pass, etc

  • Develop and arrange skill enhancement programs for office staff to boost productivity where needed.

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 55 employees.

  • Support the accounts with month-end tasks.

  • Perform general administrative duties.

 

What are we looking for

  • A degree in Human Resources or a CIPD qualification.

  • At least 2 years of experience in HR and payroll within a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
