1. What is your background?

I hold a BA in History and Politics from the University of Limerick. During my college years, I worked in hospitality and retail. After graduating, I transitioned into customer service roles, including door-to-door sales, inbound customer service, and working with the long-term unemployed.

2. Can you describe your current role - what's your typical day-to-day?

I am a Senior Recruitment Consultant on the technical desk. My day-to-day involves meeting with hiring managers and qualifying new positions, sourcing candidates through our database and LinkedIn, and speaking with both active and potential candidates. Additionally, I prepare candidates for interviews and am actively involved in business development, reaching out to new companies and maintaining relationships with past clients.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

I take great satisfaction in helping people advance their careers. It’s incredibly rewarding to see candidates secure positions that are a perfect fit for them.

4. You’ve been part of the Matrix Recruitment team for over two years now. What is your favourite thing about the team, and what are the key reasons you’ve stayed with the company?

The best thing about the team is the supportive and down-to-earth environment. The key reasons I've stayed are the strong support system, access to expert advice, and how Matrix Recruitment recognises and values hard work.

5. What advice would you give to someone who would like to become a Recruitment Consultant?

My advice is to work incredibly hard. If you put in the effort, you will see results. Stay resilient—things will inevitably go wrong, but don't dwell on them or think you're the only one facing challenges—you definitely aren't! It’s important to build strong relationships with your candidates and clients, as understanding their needs will help you succeed.

6. What are the three key skills you need to excel as a Recruitment Consultant?

  • Effective communication

  • Time management

  • Critical thinking

9. What hobbies/interests do you have outside of work?

I play Gaelic football for my local GAA club and help out on my family’s farm.
