Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations for the frozen and cooked food division, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Collaborate across departments (production, warehousing, logistics, and sales) to maintain a smooth flow of materials and products.
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationships to guarantee product availability while minimizing overstock and stockouts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, health and safety standards, and quality assurance practices specific to frozen and cooked foods.
- Drive process improvements and cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
- Manage and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Monitor KPIs related to inventory turnover, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction to ensure operational excellence.
- Supervise the flow of raw materials from suppliers to manufacturing plants, ensuring seamless coordination between production schedules and material availability.
- Manage inventory levels, controlling the balance between demand and supply while ensuring minimal waste of perishable frozen and cooked goods.
- Monitor stock rotation and ensure all food safety guidelines are adhered to during the handling and storage of products.
- Logistics and Customs Control
- Oversee the logistics process from facility to distribution centres, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs procedures, particularly in international supply chain operations.
- Work closely with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure smooth transportation of frozen goods, maintaining product integrity.
- Thrive in a constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities, adapting quickly to new challenges and market conditions.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks, such as supply disruptions or transportation delays, through proactive planning and problem-solving.
- Develop long-term demand forecasts and purchase plans to ensure production schedules align with market demand, especially in seasonally variable categories.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to secure high-quality ingredients and packaging at competitive prices while maintaining supplier performance and reliability.
What are we looking for?
- 8+ Years of Previous Supply Chain, Purchasing and Logistics Experience
- Significant experience in managing supply chains, customs details, particularly in the frozen and cooked food industry, or similar fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
- Proven track record in overseeing complex logistics operations, including cold-chain management.
- Strong Personality with a Logical Thought Process
- Able to stay calm under pressure, make decisions based on data, and lead teams effectively through challenges.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate stakeholders at all levels.
- Purchasing and Relationship Building with Suppliers
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships to ensure the best pricing, service levels, and product quality.
- Ability to establish and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers to support the business’s growth and sustainability goals.
- Dynamic and Fast-Paced Problem Solver
- Must be adaptable, resourceful, and proactive, able to identify and address challenges in real-time while balancing competing demands.
- In-Depth Knowledge of Logistics and Customs Regulations
- Understanding of cold-chain logistics and customs control to ensure smooth transportation of frozen and cooked food products across different regions.
- Strategic Thinker with Hands-On Approach
- Comfortable balancing high-level strategic planning with day-to-day operational responsibilities, with a focus on achieving business goals and delivering results.
- Team Player with Leadership experience
- Strong managerial capabilities to inspire and lead a cross-functional team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives.
