Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter for our client based in County Cavan who specialises in the Manufacturing industry. The Mechanical Maintenance Fitter main responsibilities will include install, set up, and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance to meet operational targets.
This is a permanent, Monday – Friday position, with alternating Day (6am – 2pm) & Evening shifts (2pm – 10pm) with intermittent on call weeks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on engineering services in a high-speed manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment operates efficiently.
Carry out maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of machinery, resolving issues quickly to minimise downtime.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and documentation for all work carried out.
Deliver a high-quality maintenance service, supporting production while ensuring all work is carried out safely and effectively in line with maintenance plans.
Work on a rotating shift pattern and participate in an on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks) to provide maintenance cover.
What are we looking for?
Minimum 2 years’ trade experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Qualification essential.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair and optimise equipment performance.
Experience providing engineering support to production, including reporting on performance, downtime, and suggesting process improvements.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proven ability to multitask, work flexibly, and adapt to additional duties as required.
Team player with a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving and improving processes.
