Our Environmental client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

This position will be based in County Offaly and will be on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract.

Your new job

This position will be key in the management of mechanical/plant machinery and providing mechanical engineering solutions on a day-to-day basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Review of Mechanical Plant and Machinery, ensuring plant maintenance is recorded on a planned and reactive basis.

• Supervision of Mechanical Foreman, Fitters and Contractors

• Involved in the tendering, appraisal and procurement of new mechanical plant and machinery, maintaining statutory compliance

• Maintain awareness of Health and Safety, Compliance with toolbox talks, safety inspections and risk assessments

• Liaison with environmental bodies ensuring requirements is agreed

• Pass over information to allow for progress reports to be completed.

What are we looking for?

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, equivalent to Level 8 on the National Framework

• Possess a minimum of 2 years relevant post qualification experience

• Possess access to a form of transport which will permit travel throughout Ireland.

• Have knowledge and experience on the maintenance of construction plant and upkeep of statutory compliance obligations for on and off-road vehicles.

• Have knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Welfare, practice and legislation in a work environment.
