Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician for our client based in County Cavan who specialises in the Manufacturing industry. The Maintenance Electrician main responsibilities will include to install, set up, maintain, and support manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and helping to achieve operational goals.

This is a permanent, Monday – Friday position, with alternating Day (6am – 2pm) & Evening shifts (2pm – 10pm) with intermittent on call weeks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, replace and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, control equipment and machinery in line with required standards.

  • Carry out and support preventive maintenance routines, fault finding and repairs to minimise downtime and improve plant efficiency.

  • Work closely with production teams, maintenance teams and external contractors to ensure equipment reliability and operational performance.

  • Identify and resolve recurring issues affecting equipment performance, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

  • Follow electrical diagrams, layouts and standards, ensuring proper installation, including concealed wiring before walls, ceilings and floors are completed.

  • Comply with safety regulations, emergency procedures and ISO/IPIC standards, with availability for shift work and callouts as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Electrical trade qualification with a minimum of 1 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in electrical fault finding with proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair.

  • Solid understanding of industrial electrical equipment and machinery.

  • Knowledge or experience of using PM software.

  • Self-motivated, works well on own initiative and requires minimal supervision.

  • Proven flexibility with a proactive attitude.
