Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Supervisor for our client based in County Meath. Our client is an industry leading company name that has embraced new technology to improve efficiency and sustainability while providing jobs for many in the community. With new opportunities on the horizon, they are now looking to expand their team.

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Laboratory section, including leadership, planning, and organisation, in line with management directives and set goals.

This is a permanent role, Monday – Friday basis from 7:30 – 16.00.

This role requires a degree of flexibility in line with operational needs, including some international travel.

Your new job

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Operations & Safety Management – Oversee laboratory team, ensuring safe and effective operations while adhering to organisational guidelines.

  • Strategic & Financial Oversight – Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, control expenditures, and drive long-term laboratory strategy.

  • System & Process Development – Lead LIMS system operations, stock control, maintenance, and documentation for accreditation and continuous improvement.

  • Resource & Team Management – Ensure appropriate staffing levels, supervise external resources, and contribute to the broader Mill Department management team.

  • Continuous Improvement & Compliance – Drive safety, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and accreditation goals.

 

What are we looking for?

  • A relevant third-level qualification in laboratory, scientific, or environmental science is essential.

  • At least 5 years of experience in laboratory operations is required.

  • Leadership and supervisory experience are necessary for this role.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to lead and collaborate within a small team, are essential.

  • Flexibility in working hours is expected to meet operational needs.
