1. What is your background?
I’ve been with Matrix Recruitment for over 10 years, leading the Accounts and Payroll teams. My career journey started in accounts over 25 years ago, and over time, I’ve honed my skills in financial management and payroll, developing a deep understanding of the recruitment industry.
2. Can you describe your current role - what's your typical day-to-day?
I manage the Accounts and Payroll team, overseeing financial transactions, ensuring payroll accuracy, and handling client accounts. My day involves collaboration with various departments to ensure smooth operations, financial reporting, and troubleshooting any account discrepancies.
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the variety and the challenge of ensuring all accounts and payroll functions are managed seamlessly. It’s rewarding to work with a great team that supports each other while also making an impact on the company’s financial stability.
4. You’ve been part of the Matrix Recruitment team for over ten years now. What is your favourite thing about the team, and what are the key reasons you’ve stayed with the company?
The supportive and collaborative environment is what I enjoy most. Everyone is dedicated to doing their best, and that sense of teamwork is why I’ve stayed for over a decade. Matrix values professional development and work-life balance, which has been key for me.
5. What advice would you give to someone who would like to work in Accounts and Payroll?
Pay attention to detail and stay organised. The job requires precision and accountability, but if you enjoy problem-solving and working with numbers, it’s a rewarding career.

7. What hobbies/interests do you have outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and camping. I love experimenting with new recipes and spending time outdoors with family. I also love to watch Rugby and support the Ireland Rugby team and Munster.
8. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Always stay adaptable. The business environment is constantly changing, and the ability to adapt has been invaluable in my career.
