Much of the discussion around the impact of Brexit this past year has focused on Irish exporters and the difficulties they will face as a result of new tariffs, delays at ports and build-up of stock and storage. Even though the uncertainty of Brexit still looms, the Supply Chain sector as a whole in Ireland performed well in 2019 and is set to continue in 2020. New approaches and technology have been introduced in recent years that have created significant organisational and process improvements.
The environmental and social impact of the Supply Chain sector in Ireland is also becoming as critical as its effective management. Unsurprisingly, many Irish firms are taking steps to reduce carbon emissions in their supply and logistic chains, with the added benefit of it impacting the bottom line.
