A leading and innovative Medical Device company in Co. Galway is currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to establish, implement and maintain quality systems on site.

The company are leaders in proprietary surface technologies and have been at the forefront of developing breakthrough drug delivery solutions for many of the world’s largest medical device manufacturers.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will report directly to the Quality Manager on site and will specifically focus on aiding the development of quality engineering principles through the company to ensure high levels of quality and compliance are achieved in line with customer expectations.

This is a Permanent role with an excellent salary and package.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Leads supplier evaluations and supports material qualifications.
  • Qualify new suppliers based on project and business needs.
  • Complete supplier monitoring activities in line with established timelines, including execution of supplier surveys, supplier evaluations and supplier audits.
  • Process supplier change notifications and assist with change impact assessments.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of issues related to supplied components and services
  • Lead communication to suppliers on performance issues including Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR).
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies in the supplier management program.
  • Participate in product development discussions and sub-team activities
  • Provide Quality Representation for NCMR, Complaints, internal and external audit findings and CAPAs.
  • Create accurate trending and metric reports and present findings to senior management when required.

What are we looking for?

  • An Engineering, Quality Assurance, or equivalent Science Degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Three years + post qualification experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer in the Medical Device industry.
  • An ASQ Quality Engineering certification is desirable.
  • Experience with QSR and ISO quality systems.
  • Experience with statistical techniques, measurement/trending and SPC tools
  • Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Word, Access and Excel, statistic software (JMP, Minitab)
  • An analytical approach to problem solving.
  • A good team player, who can work well in cross functional teams.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
