What you need to know

You will work as a Senior Design Automation Engineer for our client, a highly successful and well-established manufacturing company in the Midlands.

You will be responsible for improving quality and productivity through automation and will develop strategies for these improvements to be implemented. This is very much a stand alone role reporting locally and to corporate.

This is a permanent job with an excellent salary and benefits package.

 

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Search and create improvements through automation through budgeting bi-annually.
  • Manage automation projects for new and existing products
  • Provide support on automation strategies, best practices and procedures.
  • Assist in performance testing and troubleshooting activities on automation systems.
  • Design specifications and analysis
  • Manage vendors for projects i.e. contracts, budget and performance.
  • Ensure automation systems adhere to product standards i.e. EHS policies and SOP’s.
  • Ability to write specifications and find components of process you can auto or semi automate with complete costings and sustainability

 

What are we looking for?

  • 3rd Level Degree in Engineering/Mechatronic or related discipline.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a medical device or automotive industry with a demonstrated track record of leading automation systems development.
  • Experience about mechanical, electrical/electronic design i.e. Allen Bradley, pneumatic systems, motor control, vision systems, and instrumentation.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Solid Works and/or AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project
