What you need to know: 

A leading medical device company who has a global reach and are at the forefront of developing new medical technologies are currently seeking a dynamic and results orientated Quality Engineer for a 12-month contract in Galway city.

As a Quality Engineer you will be involved in the development and implementation of quality standards and protocol for processing materials and products. You will report directly to the Quality Manager and work closely with the engineering and manufacturing departments to ensure quality standards are in place.

This is a 12-month contract.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished material product.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products.
  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Communicate with management and project teams on a regular basis on issues related to receiving and inspection.
  • Collaborates with project teams and cross functional groups to develop and deliver quality products as required.
  • Supporting Test method validation execution for all internal Test Methods.
  • Evaluating changes being made to material specification to determine if method is clear and concise and equipment available.

What are we looking for?

  • A Level 8 degree in Engineer, Science or another relevant field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous receive and inspection experience.
  • Experience with Process Validations and/or Test Method Validations (For Example: IQ, OQ, PQ, and/or TMV).
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong organisations skills and ability to set own objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.
  • A strong team player who can work can well in cross functional teams.
