A leading medical device company that is experiencing strong growth is seeking an experienced and committed Senior Process Engineer to join its team in Co. Leitrim.

As a Process Engineer, you will report directly to the Plant Manager on-site and work with them to monitor and improve manufacturing processes, ensure quality standards are upheld and seek to improve overall operational efficiency on site.

Your new job

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage overall manufacturing activities on site including production, processing, machine maintenance, tool maintenance and repair.
  • Coordinate Process Development and Validation of Injection Moulds including prototyping and pilot manufacture, process validations (VMP, IQ, OQ, PQ etc).
  • Direct customer liaison including quotations, project management and customer communications.
  • Direct and coordinate planning and scheduling of moulding manufacturing to consistently meet expected product delivery.
  • Responsible for assuring the efficient use of materials, machines, moulds, auxiliary equipment, and employees.
  • Troubleshoot mould processes, machines, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor production process and trends and lead the analysis and communication of the results.
  • Provide technical assistance to technicians and operators.
  • Hire, train and develop staff to provide a full moulding service in a high technology environment.

 

What are we looking for?

  • A degree in Engineer / Science or another relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the medical devices industry as well as injection moulding experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical devices or similar quality and manufacturing systems is required.
  • Equipment knowledge and process experience for injection moulding.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Engineering principles with a proven track record in the delivery of results.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make and implement decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Extensive experience in performing manufacturing process validations.
