Inside Sales Manager Athlone Co. Westmeath


Our long-established client Athlone Extrusions is currently recruiting for a new job  Inside Sales Manager.

Athlone Extrusions is part of 3A Composites  who are  specialists in their field  of business supplying extruder plastics for over 50 years . Athlone Extrusions  exports co-extruded sheets to over 50 countries worldwide, destined for sectors/uses such as building, sanitary ware, automotive, screen-printing, packaging, white goods, electronics and point of sale and display.

Inside Sales Manager  will have full responsibility for the customer service and logistics department. You will lead and manage a team of up to 15 staff to ensure a constant customer focused service is provided.

The Inside Sales Manager reports to the Sales Director of Transport & Industry and is an integral part of the information flow between the Athlone site, the external sales managers, the logistic service providers, and the customers.  The position requires a strong knowledge and understanding of customer service activities together with the ability to make decisions and understand how they will impact on operations, currently and in the future.  This role will assist in developing procedures to enhance productivity and performance within the team in order to deliver outstanding customer support and develop excellent customer relationships.

This is a permanent job and part of the management team.

Job Duties:

  • Lead the Customer Service team to provide daily support to customers in terms of order input, new business projects, queries.
  • Driving improvement initiatives in the customer experience.
  • Territory Management.
  • Liaising with internal departments such as production and quality in order to communicate customer requirements and ensure correct prioritisation of production resources.
  • Provide data analysis to customers as required.
  • Acts as a point of contact to the commercial team in case of queries about deliveries, new business, customer information etc.
  • Supporting and co-ordinating with the shipping manager to ensure delivery schedules are achieved.
  • Manage the team lead logistics department both office based and Despatch Department.
  • Project Work around process improvements/change, new business.
  • Leading employee engagement improvement initiatives.
  • Accountable for H&S aspects in the CS office
  • Fostering a team-based culture and providing regular feedback to the team
  • Cover periods of holidays in the team by hands on order management.
  • Conducts training/recruitment/performance review processes

Essential Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Degree qualified in Business or Supply Chain.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in leading a multi-lingual customer service team within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in dealing with customers/territories across Europe
  • Proven track record in team leadership and the  ability to manage a team that may range from 5 to 15 people, so effective team co-ordination and organisational skills are vital.
  • Strong communication skills , problem solving and decision- making- abilities
  • Commercial thinking attitude with customers at the centre of their thought process in order to provide and improve an excellent standard of customer service
  • Ideally Fluent in German or Polish a distinct advantage but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of social media digital channels i.e., LinkedIn, Instagram etc.
  • Enhanced computer skills to assist in the consultation, development, and introduction of new ERP System
  • Previous working knowledge of logistics would be an advantage.
