Matrix Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager for our client, a well known global brand, in the Carlow/Kildare area.

This is a permanent role.

Your new job

  • Build organisational capabilities at the individual level to drive engineering performance with a high level of employee ownership
  • Manage the engineering activities on a day to day basis
  • Ensure that engineering issues are identified and managed to achieve KPI’s and SLA’s are aligned to the company’s strategic objectives and requirements.
  • Develop a maintenance and engineering strategy through the use of preventative, predictive and RCA techniques including engineering standards for the site.
  • Ensure timely completion of all corrective and preventive actions
  • Promote a quality, safety culture and act to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and product specifications.
  • Manage the maintenance operating expense and capital budget and ensure high standards of management about spare parts and inventory.
  • Ensure maintenance and CAPEX schedule adherence
  • Stock control review and explanation of variances
  • Review the maintenance plans ensuring resource allocation and elevating capacity constraints.
  • Recruitment of key resources to meet engineering and operational targets and maximise outputs within the plant.
  • Develop a stock control system to ensure its compliance and accuracy.
  • Conducting annual performance appraisals with the engineering team.
  • Lead improvement projects delivering cost savings, quality and productivity improvements.
  • Ensure periodic cycle counts on engineering materials are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

What are we looking for?

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role where you have been responsible for the engineering planning, CAPEX, quality, personnel, costs and all outputs
  • Third level Degree qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Extensive Maintenance leadership experience in an FMCG environment (Food, Drink or Dairy Industry)
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing equipment, of safety requirements in the maintenance and repair of machinery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through team work, motivation and real  employee engagement
  • Excellent HR practices skills, have good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting demands and to prioritise accordingly.
