Our client, a thriving and long-established company, is currently seeking a Buyer to join their team. This is a new role within the organisation, created to support its continued growth. It offers a fantastic opportunity to make the role your own and contribute significantly to shaping procurement strategies. The company has recently invested in a new ERP system, providing modern tools to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. This position is based in Roscommon Town and is a standalone role.
Your New Job:
You will be responsible for overseeing procurement operations, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining inventory levels. This permanent role suits a candidate with experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, who is ready to play a pivotal role in the organisation's operational success.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement and supply of goods and services required for the company’s operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating improved terms and pricing.
Conduct market research to monitor price changes and supplier trends.
Oversee and resolve supplier-related issues, including quality, supply, and performance.
Collaborate with internal teams, particularly production, to confirm weekly schedules and align procurement activities.
Place and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods in line with agreed specifications and prices.
Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and implement strategies to prevent overstocking while maximising cost savings.
Analyse and improve internal purchasing processes to enhance efficiency.
Leverage the new ERP system to optimise procurement operations and reporting.
Stay informed on technological advancements and their implications for procurement.

Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or a similar role.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to analyse market trends and supplier performance effectively.
