Our client, a thriving and long-established company, is currently seeking a Buyer to join their team. This is a new role within the organisation, created to support its continued growth. It offers a fantastic opportunity to make the role your own and contribute significantly to shaping procurement strategies. The company has recently invested in a new ERP system, providing modern tools to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. This position is based in Roscommon Town and is a standalone role.

Your New Job:

You will be responsible for overseeing procurement operations, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining inventory levels. This permanent role suits a candidate with experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, who is ready to play a pivotal role in the organisation's operational success.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement and supply of goods and services required for the company’s operations.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating improved terms and pricing.

• Conduct market research to monitor price changes and supplier trends.

• Oversee and resolve supplier-related issues, including quality, supply, and performance.

• Collaborate with internal teams, particularly production, to confirm weekly schedules and align procurement activities.

• Place and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods in line with agreed specifications and prices.

• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and implement strategies to prevent overstocking while maximising cost savings.

• Analyse and improve internal purchasing processes to enhance efficiency.

• Leverage the new ERP system to optimise procurement operations and reporting.

• Stay informed on technological advancements and their implications for procurement.
