                                                DAWN INTERNATIONAL

 

Dawn International is an international food trading company. Our main business is in meat trading but we have also expanded to other food commodity trading. We are part of the Arrow Group which is owned by the Queally family here in Waterford.  Dawn International started in 1993 and currently has twenty employees..  Please visit our website at www.dawnint.ie for more information. The main objective of our business is to buy containers of food products from factories and sell them to customers worldwide. Dawn International takes ownership of the goods from the factory and ships them to the customer.

 

Due to very strong activity I am currently looking to expand our team of traders. The person will need to have initiative and a strong understanding of commerciality. The person needs to be flexible and needs to have the ability to develop new business on an ongoing basis.   The person needs to be able to develop strong relationships with suppliers and customers This position has to be looked at as a career not a short term job.

There is a detailed training programme within the Company and this process includes an extended period of time assisting a senior trader. On completion of training the trader can take advantage of the Bonus Scheme and will have the opportunity to increase remuneration significantly.

Trader – Job description;

The core nature of employment will be to work in a Trading capacity and report directly to the Business Manager.  Initially the candidate would have to complete our training programme and then duties will include but not be limited to  -

  1. The buying and selling of meat and other commodities as deemed commercially acceptable by management on an ongoing basis.
  2. Making and maintaining direct communication with both Suppliers and Clients, mainly by telephone and e-mail.
  3. Maintaining the ancillary paperwork associated with such trade.
  4. Travel to Clients premises and Trade Shows. This might be necessary on weekends.
  5. Duties will be varied and of a nature which will require a great deal of initiative and responsibility.
  6. Commercial decisions will be made through ongoing consultation with Management.
  7. It is understood that a flexible attitude to other duties is required e.g. to commence trading in a new product line, travel, administration, etc.

 

A probation period of 9 months applies.
