What you need to know

An innovative and growing medical devices company in Co. Roscommon that manufacture bespoke and high-quality single-use medical device products is currently looking to add a driven and committed Production Supervisor to its operations team.

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for efficiently managing a range of product lines, ensuring all manufacturing KPIs relating to quality, safety, quantity and costs are met.

The company provide tailored technical solutions and manufacturing services to an array of leading med-tech companies. They pride themselves on their meticulous and professional approach throughout the manufacturing process and have an outstanding track record of developing new products from concept generation through to commercialisation. 

This is a permanent position with an excellent package that includes pension, healthcare, life assurance, bonus and career and professional development opportunities. The successful candidate will be overseeing an evening shift on the company’s site.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and direct personnel in your assigned area of responsibility to achieve required outputs.

  • Ensure an acceptable level of quality by ensuring adherence to all internal specifications, SOPs, and any other relevant documentation.

  • Communicate and liaise effectively with all personnel on product lines, and with members of other departments professionally and collaboratively.

  • Always promote and champion health and safety best practices.

  • Provide solutions to technical problems experienced on production lines and escalate to relevant departments when required.

  • Carefully and accurately manage production records.

  • Develop a positive employee relations culture within manufacturing by facilitating the concept of teamwork and total employee involvement.

  • Develop training plans and skills matrix for areas of responsibility.

  • Manage personal time and prioritise individual action items.

  • Pursue a programme of personal self-development in partnership with the Manufacturing Manager.

  • Conduct routine audits of your assigned areas ensuring adherence to company policy/procedures relating to Safety, GPM and Quality methods.

  • Carry out employee appraisals in a fair professional and timely manner.

  • Mentor, coach and develop personnel to ensure they reach their potential.


 What are we looking for?

  • 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory position in a regulated manufacturing environment is desirable.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is essential, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is highly desirable.

  • Excellent interpersonal and the ability to build strong professional relationships with colleagues.

  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate in cross-functional teams to achieve collective goals.

  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills and a demonstrable track record in developing personnel and leading manufacturing teams.

  • Experience in managing budgets and financial planning.  

  • Production Planning experience with the ability to adapt to production needs and plan for and implement changes accordingly.  

  • Strong Computer Literacy, proficient in MS Office.
