What you need to know
A leading and innovative plastics manufacturer in Co. Westmeath which is going through a period of exciting growth is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join its team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Production Manager. 

As a Production Supervisor, you will have a vital role within the business and have responsibility for managing the day-to-day manufacturing operations of your area, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring all health and safety and standard operating procedures are being complied with. 

The company are leaders in their field that design, develop and manufacture quality plastics products and components for some of the world’s most renowned automotive and medical devices companies.
This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package that includes 26 days of annual leave, pension, healthcare (family), and learning and development support. 


Your New Job

  • Plan and communicate the daily production workload, delegating duties to relevant people.

  • Supervision of staff to ensure adherence to safety and operating procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Line Clearance.

  • Troubleshoot blow moulding and injection moulding machine processes as required and on automation and downstream equipment. 

  • Liaise with Engineering and Quality to resolve issues and reduce downtime. 

  • Verify all applicable paperwork associated with batch records and ensure they are properly completed in line with cGMP standards. 

  • Complete work to close out CAPAs and Change Controls when required and manage NCR process in conjunction with the Quality department. 

  • Report production and quality metrics at the end of the shift and contribute to daily production meetings. 

  • Continually review production methods/operating procedures with a view to improving efficiency and quality.

  • Ensure all work areas are appropriately resourced and that personnel are competently trained to carry out their duties. 

  • Manage holidays, absence and timekeeping in an effective, consistent and fair manner. 

  • Carry out performance reviews with personnel under your supervisor and provide them with support to improve their performance and develop their careers.

What are we looking for? 

  • Relevant experience in a supervisory role in a regulated manufacturing environment. 

  • Experience in the plastics or medical devices industry would be a distinct advantage but not essential. 

  • Proven ability to manage personnel effectively and delegate work to others. 

  • Team player who can work well with others to achieve collective business goals. 

  • A methodical and logical thinker who can work well under pressure. 

  • A strong problem solver who can provide innovative solutions to challenges. 

  • Excellent personnel management skills and is fair and consistent with their decisions making. 

  • Excellent communicator who can positively influence others and explain manufacturing concepts concisely and clearly. 

  • Possess excellent attention to detail, has high standards, and always seeks to continuously improve operational efficiency. 

  • Knowledge of quality management and health and safety regulations and systems
