What you need to know

A globally renowned medical device company in Co. Offaly that are leading manufacturers of highly specialised neurosurgical products are currently seeking a competent and diligent Operations Engineer to oversee the assembling and testing of their electromechanical equipment.

As an Operations Engineer you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for overseeing projects and offering technical support to production operations in a highly regulated and cutting-edge manufacturing environment.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package that includes 23 days annual leave, pension, healthcare, and training and development opportunities.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Electro-mechanical medical device product and test improvements.

  • Diagnosis of faults and customer complaint investigations.

  • Introduction of new products to the manufacturing.

  • Generation and adherence to GMP.

  • Assessment and implementation of engineering change requests.

  • Closure of CAPAs, NCRs and Complaints within the specified times.

  • Updating and re-issuing of associated documentation through the company change process.

  • Work with the sustaining engineering group on improving designs through projects, and on product transfers from product development to manufacturing.

  • Provide technical expertise during the project release phases.


What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or another relevant field.

  • 3 years’ experience in electronic and electromechanical systems manufacturing support, test development and troubleshooting (ideally in the medical device industry).

  • Experience in a regulated industry with a proven track record of successfully managing validation processes.

  • A general knowledge of PCs (DOS, Windows, hardware installation).

  • Experience with test development software (e.g., LabVIEW, Test Stand) is beneficial.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to offer innovative solutions.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
